[Ideas] Add the ability to edit a picture taken on mobile

This feature has been discussed and asked for a few times in the last two years on your forum.

This can by default be achieved by using the AllowEdit parameter in the CordovaCamera plugin but it only works for iOS.


The whole point is basically to be able to add shapes to an existing image or one that has just been taken with the camera.

Here is the list of shapes that are the most commonly requested/used.

  • Square
  • Circle
  • Arrow

These shapes can be moved, rotated and resized.

The edited image is then saved along with the original.


This is a typical feature needed for inspection, field services and maintenance services.

There is unfortunately no existing Cordova plugin that offers this feature. And the only existing component on Forge (Sketch) is buggy (only a quick test) and only enabling to draw (with the finger) on pictures that are max 750x750px.

[Ideas] Inline Edit Widget

The new form widget enables us to create\edit\show a single record. With the property "enabled" we can only show the record on read-only mode, like a ShowRecord widget. Why not take this widget to the next level and allow inline edit?
The idea is to have something like the EditableTable for the ShowRecord or Form widgets, but instead of all the record, just edit each attribute inline.

I'm a newbie on outsystems so correct me if i'm wrong but it seems that, on a merge operation, we are just show both eSpaces and it's differences and that each version is stored with no actual change history, just different versions of the same eSpace.

Subversion comes to mind. And the memories aren't good.

It seems to me that a mercurial/git-like approach is better.
(I've only used mercurial on previous projects, not git)

With mercurial you have a change history and change sets. so two versions of a file aren't just 2 different files who eventually get compared. They are really 2 versions of the same file, with a change set that tells us (and the system) what has changed between them on a given commit moment. This makes it easier to merge code. We are only asked to help when the system has doubts on what is the code we want on the merged version.

From what i read all over the net, git is more flexible(mercurial is james bond, git is macgyver), so it can be used internally on the platform to implement this.

[Ideas] Open in browser menu item should also be available when the screen is in "Tree mode"

I really like the feature to open a screen in the browser by right click on the screen and select "Open in browser".



When the screen is in show tree mode the option is not there in the right click menu. I first have to change the view, find the screen and right click on it.

It would be nice to have the option "Open in Browser" when right click the screenname in the "tree view" mode.

[Ideas] OutSystems 11 Popups still using Deprecated_Notify and Deprecated_NotifyGetMessage

Seems that not all is OS11 is using the new webblock event and event handlers feature of OutSystems 11.

Would be nice if we do not have to fall back to the Deprecated Notify and NotifyGetMessage actions for popups in OS11.

[Ideas] Recent Modules visible when opening a new module

2 aspects that could be added to Service Studio

1 - the recent modules list should be visible at all times

2 - whenever you click on a module in the recent modules list, it should open that module and also the environment tab should focus on the application of that module (most of the times you will most likely need something from that application). This could be a user's option on the Studio

ECT provider is a useful feature, but a bit too simple. 

Wouldn't it be great if we could also start a conversation with the feedback recepient, and notify the feedback recepient that the issue was fixed and request for re-testing?

[Ideas] Allow SEO-Friendly URL Site Rules to Accept Wildcards

We use a URL structure like this:
customer.application.environment.domain

For example:
abc.salesapp.uat.company.com

We parse the URL within the application to pull the company URL prefix (e.g. abc in the above example) in order to customize the look and feel (e.g. we change the colors, logo, etc. to match our customer's requirements) of the application screens for our users.

Since we are not implementing a unique version of the application, we use the SEO-Friendly URL Site Rules to send users to the correct eSpace.  Right now, we have to add a site rule for each customer that uses our application:

abc.salesapp.uat.company.com goes to SalesApp eSpace
def.salesapp.uat.company.com goes to SalesApp eSpace
...
xyz.salesapp.uat.company.com goes to SalesApp eSpace

It would be easier for us if we could use a wildcard and only enter in one rule.  Something like:
*.salesapp.uat.company.com goes to SalesApp eSpace

I am trying to download wkhtmltopdf and upload the exe files in the HtmlToPdfConverter/Administration.aspx.

But I am not able to upload the .exe files. Below is the error.

Could not find a part of the path 'D:\wkhtmltox-0.12.5-1.mxe-cross-win64\wkhtmltox\binaries'

Can some one help from where can I get the binaries folder to upload the .exe files.

        Since Deleting a user from the OutSystems database (User Management) has many relations, so what if OutSystems arrange to delete all the relation in the delete user Action

[Ideas] Make dropdown Style Classes / Icons faster and remember last chosen option

The dropdown list of the Style Classes and Icons are pretty slow and more people are experiencing it. I think this is because of the fact that the whole list is loaded at once.

Second of all is that when you have selected a Style Class or Icon and it turns out that it is not suiting you, you want to select a better one. But the list won't start on your selected option, but on the top of the list. Again this is pretty annoying when the list is loading pretty slow and you have to scroll down again.

A no-brainer: having the possibillity in the Expression Editor to click on a true or false button to have the text.

Just like you have now with the null identifiers.

Yes, its lazy but that's the common thread with developers :)
