[Ideas] [JavaScript] Being able to remove the osjs.js (on screen level)

OutSystems always include the osjs javascript this file is 160k and takes a lot time to load. On some webapplication this JS isn't needed and the performance will increase a lot without this javascript file. Also regarding mobile webapplications 160k is to big!


In this forum post there is a way to remove the file but then the ajax is also disabled. I want to be able to remove this JavaScript without disabling other code. If the file is included I want to be able to set the expire time, caching and the possibility to set the file on the bottom of the page instead the header.

So give the control about this JS back to the developer!

When a user clicks on "Add New Idea" and he enters his idea into the title of the idea textfield. The application should perform a search for similar ideas, and display a list of similar ideas to help the user avoid adding the same/similar idea that already exist.

Unlike the web development course, some faster and more dynamic exercises like these videos presented for this new course.

Please allow in a personal environment the different outsystems services to be restarted through lifetime. Or at least the deployment service. I've seen numerous topics about this on the forum, and I assume support has better things to do then to restart services on people's personal environments.

It could have one more function to get the ID (RoleId) of the role.

[Ideas] Entity diagram auto-arrange

It would be really nice to have an auto-arrange feature in the entity diagrams. For exporting a diagram to an image to serve as documentation, it is really hard to align things when we have many entities and/ or relationships. 


The OutDoc generated image is nice and arranged but does not have the table fields.

[Ideas] Silk Components should have standardized placeholder names

Right now when you are using silk components, there doesn't seem to be a consistent naming with the components.  So if you are deciding between a Panel and a Section, you have to move your content to the new placeholder each time because the names are different.  If the placeholders had the same name, it would automatically keep your content in the right place without having to select everything and move it.  (i.e. call PanelContent, SectionContent, etc, just Content, call PanelTitle, SectionTitle just Title)


An alternative would be to improve the Placeholder naming to that you could rename it in your application for consistency.

The idea is allow developer to set the default texts generated by scaffoldings:

  • Feedback Messages in Detail Screen
  • "Save" and "Cancel" buttons text in Detail Screen
  • TableRecords Empty Message (List Screen)
  • New Record button text, "Search" and "Clear" button text in List Screens.
  • And other automatically generated texts

[Ideas] Call action of another screen/block

It would be nice if I could call actions from another screen/webblock.

To give a example to use this:

When I have a webblock ('first') inside another webblock ('second') (it's the same with screens) and I need the first webblock refreshed. I must build a hidden refresh button in the first webblock so I can call that button from the second webblock with javascript. This way I also could be able to refresh other parts of the screen (with is build through webblocks) without refreshing the whole screen.

[Ideas] OSDiagTool should come bundled with the OutSystems Platform Server

The OSDiagTool is often used by the Support to diagnose some situations related by the customers. Why not make this tool bundled with the Platform Server? 

It will be easier for the customer to extract the logs if the tool is already installed with the platform. If that´s not possible, mention the tool as an optional step in the installation checklist.

In the list of previous versions of an espace in service center, you should be able to open a version directly in service studio. Currently you have to download the oml and then open it in service studio.

It is good to allow adding a list or table record inside another list or table records. It is useful when presenting multiple value content of a connected entity or list of attachments using the table record row value as filter to the added (child) list or table record.

I would like to propose the inclusion of a logging capability for the SOAP requests sent and received from any WebService in the scope of an eSpace.

Meaningful information to be included:

-Server and port

-Date + time

-SOAP messages sent and received

-User

-Originator (process, flow, ...)


And a log viewer that enables the search for Web Services invocations based on:

-Service name

-Date

-Originator

-User

The Soap messages (sent and received) should be presented in XML.


What we gain:

-easy way of detecting configuration errors (wrong server, ...)

-easy way of validating the input sent, for user input errors

-easy way of validating the output sent from the back-end system via the web service

[Ideas] Include Workitems-widget into servicestudio/integration studio

Hi,

Suggestion, food for thought:

add a widget/taskbox/window to service studio for the workitems you need to do for a certain sprint, assuming you are connected to ANP ofcourse.
Instead of switching to the browser to look in ANP which workitems you need to work on for that sprint, you see a nice simple overview inside service studio.
which you can also close/update when you are switching from workitem.

You should also be able to add/update issues that you notice during developmentime, instead of making "reminder-notes for other people"

[Ideas] Basic Authentication to Consume SOAP Web Service

I have a web address that requires a username and password to access the WSDL. (Basic Authentication)

Therefore, I cannot consume the SOAP Web Service directly within OutSystems (Integrations -> SOAP -> Consume SOAP Web Service)

I have to create a local copy of the WSDL and save it locally including EVERY XSD within the WSDL. I then have to manually map the WSDL to the local XSD's.

Then I consume the LOCAL WSDL and all works.

Extremely time consuming for large WSDLs.

We want to use the  'Consume SOAP Web Service' and simply pass in the username and password (optional)

Allow the ability to create custom ASP.NET User Control as webscreen widgets.

The widget should appear in servicestudio widget toolbox.

(Next big feature! = improve the user experience? version 6.0?)
